An Invitation to Automotive OEM’s

PLMA, the energy industry’s association for practitioners of EV managed charging invites you to join us for our annual Summer Symposium which we’re hosting for two half days (August 25, noon to 5 pm, August 26, 8 am to noon) in Arlington, VA. 

This Symposium, which includes two parallel tracks, will convene electric utilities, data center and AI leaders, and auto OEMs, plus vendors and advisors for a detailed exploration of:

  • What we have collectively learned to date about V2X, V2G, and Managed Charging (Day 1), and

  • What the Utilities believe to be the major challenges to widescale EV adoption (Day 2).

Building Synergy between Automotive OEMs and Electric Utilities

With two half-days of practical, interactive, experience- and data-driven sessions; robust cross-industry networking; and an opportunity to connect in a meaningful way with both utility and auto colleagues who focus on EV programs; you’ll leave understanding:

  1. Why V2X, V2G, and managed charging are critical to both the automotive and utility industries’ success, and how they works;
  2. The electric utilities’ major business drivers: maintaining grid reliability, building new revenue, and enhancing customer engagement;
  3. The utilities’ charging capacity and the process and lead time to increase it, how utilities address grid reliability, plus EV challenges to date;
  4. Issues of utility interconnection and communication protocols;
  5. Shared auto-utility customer synergy, and overcoming current and future barriers to EV adoption, as identified by utility customers;
  6. Hurdles to building a highly collaborative relationship between auto OEMs and utilities, and how to address these;
  7. Understanding the auto-utility collaboration that will best support EV sales as well as a reliable, resilient, sustainable electric grid.
