An Invitation to Utility Professionals

PLMA, the energy industry’s association for practitioners of flexible load management, demand response, distributed energy resources, and managed charging, invites utility professionals to join us for our Summer Symposium which will address large load topics in two parallel tracks: EV Grid Impacts (track 1) and Data Centers (track 2). Attendees are invited to participate in sessions of interest in either or both tracks.

Located in Arlington, VA, this year’s Summer Symposium will convene electric utilities, auto OEMs, data center professionals, and their vendors for a detailed exploration of:

  • What utilities have learned to date about large load customers (Day 1), and
  • What utilities believe to be the major challenges to addressing large loads (Day 2).

Building Synergy between Utilities and Large load stakeholders

With two half-days of practical, interactive, experience- and data-driven sessions; robust cross-industry networking; and an opportunity to connect in a meaningful way with colleagues from the data centers, automotive OEMs, and with utility professionals who focus on load flexibility programs, you’ll leave understanding:
  1. Why managed charging continues to be important to both the automotive and utility industries;
  2. How load flexibility contributes to ensuring data centers build reliable access to energy;
  3. The major business drivers for large load customers;
  4. Hurdles to building a collaborative relationship between utilities and large load customers and how to address these;
  5. The utility collaborations that can best support a reliable, resilient, sustainable electric grid.
