Conferences

Each year, PLMA hosts a Spring Conference and a Fall Conference. Attendance runs ~400 to 450 people per event and is open to PLMA members and stakeholders alike. These conferences are hosted in cities around the United States, providing regional perspectives from all areas of the country.



Each PLMA conference agenda is developed through an open “call for presentations.” A team of PLMA member volunteers is invited to judge all of the presentation proposals received, rating them against an objective scoring rubric. Utility participation, lessons learned, and results achieved are an important dimension of each of the top-ranked ~25 sessions that are selected for presentation at each conference.

PLMA Symposia

Annually, PLMA hosts one or more Symposia to explore a specific subject in much greater depth. Attendees at PLMA symposia tend to have a strong career focus on the symposium’s subject of exploration and attendance runs to 150 to 200 people. As with conferences, the symposia are open to PLMA members and stakeholders alike, and are hosted in cities around the United States, running one to two days in length.

Symposia agenda are developed through an open “call for presentations.” PLMA invites a team of member volunteers to judge all of the presentation proposals received, rating them against an objective scoring rubric. Important innovations, new research and learnings, and results achieved in various programs are key criteria in the selection of symposia presentations.


WEbinars:
PLMA’s Load Management DialogueS

PLMA’s Load Management Dialogues are generally 30 mins in length and are open to anyone with an interest in the topic being presented. They offer valuable learnings for utilities, regulatory staff, vendors, and others seeking knowledge and information on flexible load management.

All Load Management Dialogues are listed on the PLMA Calendar. Speakers generally provide a 20-minute overview of their topic and follow it with a robust audience-based Q&A discussion.

Recordings of PLMA’s Load Management Dialogues are added to PLMA’s podcast, “PLMA: Load Management Dialogues,” which is available from wherever you get your podcasts, and also to PLMA’s YouTube channel.

Member-only Webinars:
HOT TOPIC conversations

PLMA’s HOT TOPIC Conversations are hosted by the PLMA Interest Group Co-Chairs specifically for PLMA members.

Thirty-minute and one-hour HOT TOPIC webinars include a presentation and member conversation. They can range from formal to informal, and focus on emergent topics and technologies to gathering input around future conference, research, or discussion initiatives and presentations.

HOT TOPIC webinars are open to PLMA members only and are also listed on the PLMA Calendar.
