This one-day interactive class delves into the elements of flexible load management and includes an overview of demand response, DERs, and flexible load management; technologies; DER use cases; wholesale markets; design and implementation; EM&V; and more.

Class Learning Objectives:

  1. Articulate a common language for describing the evolution of load flexibility as seen through the eyes of industry leaders, 
  2. Explain the current market principles and the technologies enabling load flexibility initiatives today,  
  3. Compare how load flexibility programs perform relative to energy efficiency, thermal/battery storage, and renewable energy initiatives, 
  4. Introduce portfolio design strategies and implementation tactics that address the fading boundary between bulk power
    exchange and retail electricity usage.

It offers a breadth of knowledge on how to transition, reposition, or create customer programs based on demand response, distributed energy resources, and load flexibility as a means to address electricity demand, mitigate high energy prices, and manage variable generation.
