National Grid RFI – Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) Opportunities (due: June 17, 2026)

National Grid announced an RFI to gather industry information regarding potential NWA opportunities. The purpose of this RFI is to gather interest levels and the ability to respond to future potential RFPs. Grid has identified eight initial NWA potential opportunities across its New York electric service territory. All of these opportunities are anticipated to have needs in 2027 and beyond, with some going through 2038.

  • Who can apply?: Demand response providers, energy service companies, DER owners, operators, developers, and aggregators.
  • How to submit a proposal: Respondents are required to complete this workbook and upload onto the Piclo platform. The template allows respondents to address one, multiple, or all locations of interest in a consistent format. Instructions for completing the workbook are provided within the Excel file. Responses are due by 5pm EST on June 17, 2026.
    • Note: Prior to submitting the RFI workbook, an asset will need to be uploaded into the platform. The asset can be proposed as “in development” as we understand your assets may not yet be operational.
  • Piclo platform support: You can schedule a meeting with Piclo for assistance using the platform to prepare and submit a proposal.
