As we move into a growth phase, PLMA is searching for a Program & Events Manager to join our team of professionals in a fully remote position. Our Program & Events Manager will play a vital role in delivering high-quality experiences across PLMA’s conferences, webinars, training programs, and member engagement events. The P&E Manager will supervise logistics, timelines, and vendor/stakeholder coordination with minimal supervision, supporting both the Chief Development Officer (CDO) who oversees communications and programs and the Senior Director of Operations & Membership. Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Sr. Director with live conferences & symposia. Coordinate event timelines, call for presentations, speaker, and sponsor communications, etc.
- Manage conference and symposium venues, AV, app/web alignment, registration, and budgeting logistics
- Track revenue, hotel room blocks, and post-event metrics
- Oversee presentation collection, scoring, and content delivery
- Schedule webinars and online events, supporting logistics and live tech for online events
- Archive webinar/online materials, track engagement data, and maintain consistency across platforms
- Serve as real-time tech support and post-event processor (YouTube, podcast, reports)
- Assist CDO with Education Programs, coordinating logistics for online and in-person training classes
- Manage education program registration, materials, budget, instructor prep, and travel logistics
- Support education program version control and satisfaction follow-ups
- Assist CDO with Spring Conference PLMA Awards, supporting nomination logistics, winner communications, visuals, and scheduling
- Oversee shipping of trophies and recognition elements after conferences and events
- Assist CEO with governance and leadership meetings, managing master calendar, agendas, polls, recordings, and follow-ups
- Ensure meeting quorum, documentation, and troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in program management, event planning, or association operations
- Basic understanding of energy, utilities, or sustainability issues
- Demonstrated ability to manage logistics, communications, and timelines independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint
- Familiarity with event tech platforms, registration systems, and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Organized, detail-focused, and adaptable to shifting priorities
- Experience in association management or nonprofit event production preferred
- Technical comfort with video conferencing platforms, app/event platforms, online publishing, and HTML
- Project management experience or certification preferred
