National Grid RFP: Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA)

National Grid issued a Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) RFP seeking load relief from DER aggregators, owners, and operators to address Summer 2025 needs in 9 areas in Massachusetts.

Only operational assets will be considered, and EVSE is excluded. Other DER technologies restrictions may apply based on opportunity location.

To submit a proposal and bid to National Grid, DER providers need to do so via the Piclo platform by July 15th. To create a Piclo account:

  1. Go to the Piclo platform and select “Register” in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Once your account has been successfully created, you will need to upload your operational assets.
  3. Review the NWA opportunities by selecting the “Markets” header at the top of the page. You will see several opportunities (“competitions”) on the right-hand side. Select any relevant National Grid MA NWA opportunity for details.
  4. Next, go to the “Manage” header at top of the page to complete your Company Qualification (CQ). Go to: Applications > National Grid – Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) Massachusetts – Summer 2025 RFP.
  5. After your CQ has been submitted and approved by National Grid, submit a bid by going to: Manage > Bids > Submit New Bids. Select the relevant NWA competition and complete required fields.

If you have any questions about the Piclo account registration process or responding to the RFP, please email your questions to Piclo’s Will Chapman (william.chapman@piclo.energy).
